A plea from a desperate writer

Hey everybody,

I have a HUGE favor to ask.

We (meaning my husband and I) are in a bad living situation. I'm not going to go into great detail, other than to say our roommates have turned into the roommates from hell and our landlord (who lives in the house with the four of us) has become an unbearable ass to us. The rules are constantly broken and when we bring up the agreed upon consequences, we're basically told those consequences don't apply to the landlord's son - who's one of our roommates - and that we should be grateful we have a place to live.

We sold our aging truck last month because it wasn't in the greatest shape and the person who bought it thought he could fix it up where we couldn't afford it. This leaves us at the mercy of the landlord's son and the landlord himself to provide us with a vehicle to get me to my medical appointments (I'm having a host of medical issues, and my health is steadily declining at this point). We live on my income only, and it's minimal, so we have no way of saving anything. My husband is looking for a job that pays (he works the property owner's farm and I do all the inside housework) and we can't rely on the landlord and his son to let him have their vehicles for as long as he'd need it. Not to mention if he's at work, I need a vehicle to get myself to and from appointments.

So, after all of that, what I'm asking is a very HUGE favor. I have a GoFundMe set up. I need $2000 to get a car. I've seen people selling their cars for around that price or left that still work perfectly fine. They just have more miles on them than people want. Or they have a shiny new car and want to get rid of an older one. I hate asking for financial help. It's one of the worst feelings ever for me. But my husband and I need this car.

I realize this is bad timing with the hurricane and all, but I seriously need this. Thanks for whatever you can do. And if you want to ignore this, go for it. Either way, I put this out here and that was my aim.
